Eldorado Raptor Closures Lifted

Posted on: May 13th, 2012 by rbriggs

As of May 14, 2012 all raptor closures have been lifted by the State Park in Eldorado Canyon.
However, remember that Mickey Maus and Diamondhead are on City of Boulder OSMP land and remain closed.  Go to  http://boulderclimbingcommunity.net/flatirons-closures/ for maps of all remaining closures on City land.

This is great news. Although we tend to notice the things that are not going our way, when we look at the way the various land agencies are now handling wildlife closures, we can see progress over time.
The City and the Forest Service are making efforts to reduce the blanket closures and to open them once the sites are cleared or apparently not occupied.
This was not something one could expect 10 years ago.
